Puranic Geography of the Earth to be finally Published!
Hey, thanks to everyone who has viewed and liked my research here on Soolaba’s Blog! Unfortunately, due to many upheavals in my life, I have not been able to post anything new at all for a year or more.
I am spending all my time now finishing and reviewing the unabridged draft for my book “The Puranic Geography of Bharata-varhsa”, now that I am settled in one place again after several years of interruptions. Many other projects have been shelved while I receive new translations, create new images, check grammar and spelling, check biographical references, and generally fix errors in my original draft.
It is very exciting to get new and accurate translations of Puranic verses that describe the Puranic World from the Vrindavan Institute. There is now new evidence that the yojana must have different values to accommodate the different models represented in the Bhagavatam’s Fifth Canto. There is new evidence describing how Bharata’s dvipas or khandas are divided up amongst the kingdoms of the Earth in different kalpas. There is new evidence that the Sun presents Himself subjectively as sight and as the timekeeper to individuals in different lokas.
How can Earth be Flat and Spherical? Is there land beyond the South Pole? Do the dark patches on the Moon mirror our continents? Can we Sail to Jambudvipa? Could India just have landed a craft on the Moon? How much of the original bow-shape of Bharata-varsha was destroyed by the digging of Sagara’s sixty-thousand sons? What are the ancient Sanskrit names of our seven continents? These and other questions are examined in this book.
